If there is a list of artists, of all time,whose works make people ‘feel’ the most, Vincent van Gogh will definitely makes top three. After more than a hundred years, we are used to put grand labels such as “the representative figure of Post-Impressionism”, “the pioneer of Expressionism”, etc.; however, the timeless charm of van Gogh’s art derives exactly from the purity of his passion and the desire to capture natural spirit, not fame or wealth. 


Artists more often than not give a sense of untouchableness, such as Andy Warhol: the silverwig is his timeless signature, obscuring the notions of age and gender; hispales, expressionless face adds to the vibe of mystery. However, the spirit of Andy Warhol is much more secular than many other artists: to make money. In a flourish age of commerce and media, Andy makes art like a businessman andmarkets himself like a media person. “Business is the best art.” He said. Heinvented a system of making arts based on the mass production mode of industrial stage. Celebrities, brands and the irony of them are the major subjects of his works, and there is no doubt that he was extremely successful in making money as an artist!
